You have found the perfect dryer online. It has all the features you want at a great price. You are about to hit “buy” when you notice one small detail: it is a gas dryer. Now the panic sets in.
Do I even have a gas hookup?

If you still cannot tell, spending $50 to $100 on a plumber or licensed appliance installer to check is money well spent. They can confirm whether you have a hookup and whether it is up to code.
Signs You Do NOT Have a Gas Hookup
Just as important as knowing what to look for is knowing what a “no gas” laundry room looks like:
- Only a 240-volt electric outlet, no small pipes or valves
- No visible gas line anywhere on the wall
